Week 7 - Day 5
It's yard waste day! Let's see what happens this week.
Last week, it took a Roving Reporter FOUR phone calls over a three-day period ... before it was finally picked up on Tuesday late afternoon. And it wasn't just his/her yard waste ... the whole street had been missed.
How much time should residents be spending to make sure that their stuff is picked up? This should be on autopilot by now.
Week 7 - Day 4 - Report 2
Trucks were still out on the streets at 8 PM.
This is unacceptable.

The following streets were missed for recyclables as of 6:00 PM:
Sandover Court
Sandover
Dierker
Waybourn
Woodhall
Cheltenham
Lymington
Shelbourne
Folkstone
Stratton
Harborough
Hadleigh
Camborne
Braunton
Wimbledon
Harborough
Donington
Kipling
Haverford
Lane's End
Langport
Brackley
Alliston
Helston
Elginfield
Roseberry
Crompton
Elderberry
Belrose
Benderton Court
Keswick
Is there anything they got?
Trucks were still working after 8PM on Mountview ...
Yet another violation of C.O. 517.15.
AND... one of our city employees was seen in a truck driving around these streets after 6:30 in a city vehicle equipped with a trash bin.
We are paying this city employee's overtime!!!

We are paying extra for this new service ... our tax dollars are being used to pay our city employees to do the job that the contractor signed up to do!
When do we say, "We've had enough?"
Week 7 - Day 4 - Report 1
This isn't really news, but I'm taking advantage of this site's readership to ask for help.
It's been seven weeks since the new trash service started, and some of the now-ex-Solid Waste employees are still looking for new jobs. I've had the privilege of getting to know a handful of them over the last four months, and would recommend them to anyone looking for a good employee. They're good people -- dependable, hard-working, customer-oriented, and trustworthy. They knew the ins-and-outs of our difficult trash collection system, truly viewed the residents as valued customers, and went out of their way to accommodate our idiosyncrasies.
If you have any job openings in your operation, or know someone who does, please consider these folks.
Email me at uapetition@aol.com if you'd like to get in touch with them.
I know they'd be grateful for any leads you can provide.
Thank you.
Week 7 - Day 3
From one Roving Reporter ...
I was on Highland Dr. today (May 21) at 3:45 and saw what appeared to be an old city trash truck with Inland markings (I don't think the use of masking tape counts as proper markings) dropping trash from the back of the truck. This was on Highland between Kenny Rd. and Pegg. The truck had trash in the loading/pasker area but had not been packed into the truck.
Thank you to a Star Reporter!
And yet another list ...

Fishinger
Friar
Abbey
London
Watergate
Stoneygate
Bronsmead
Stonehenge
Tremont
Sunningdale
Kennybrook
Invernessway
Pemberton
Recyclables not picked up by 6:15 ... and this is just a partial list ....no idea how late they were out.
Here's a classic ... recyclables all down Tremont Road at 6:15, as taken from London Road ... notice the "dontrezonetremont.com" sign placed in the front yard of the first house.
Definitely a "kill two birds with one stone" picture ...

A big "Thank You" to another Star Reporter, Nadia, for this contribution!
Week 7 - Day 1

Here's a list of recyclables not picked up by 5:15. (Our Roving Reporters happened to see as they were driving home.)
Coventry
Fairfax
Tewksbury
Tremont
Wexford
Collingswood
Chatfield
Suffolk
South Park
South Parkway
North Parkway
Kensington
Guilford
Beverly

Chatham
And ... trucks were still collecting at 7:15 PM (at least).
Yet another violation of C.O. 517.15.

We are now nearly two months into the new service.
City staff and Council,
just how long is this going to go on???
