WEEK 20 - DAY 4

Here are the great Letters to the UA News I mentioned yesterday ...

"City is only 'fixing' things that aren't broken"

City managers' assertions were totally misleading

WEEK 20 - DAY 3

Oh NO!!! We got a complaint today from a loyal customer ... apparently we haven't been updating news enough recently.
And you know what?  They're right.  And we apologize.

Since getting on the ballot, we've been using our 24 daily hours moving forward in other ways because, really, nothing new has surfaced.

The City still can't explain why its initial promises have not been kept.
There are still 3 Solid Waste Division staff actively collecting trash and/or recyclables throughout the city, even though the city turned this over to the contractor nearly 5 months ago.
Garbage cans and lids are still littering major streets after the trash/recycle trucks come through.

New news is off-topic.

Did anyone notice the "Demolition Signs" in front of the two properties on Tremont Road?  I guess the owner/developer has decided that it's going to bulldoze those two houses regardless of how the referendum turns out in November, leaving two vacant lots.  After all, they're zoned "R1," which means that not just single family housing, but daycare centers, "institutions," and other assorted buildings can be constructed.
Have YOU checked YOUR zoning lately?  The folks on Brandon/Chester learned the hard way that they're now stuck with what was snuck through in 2002 with the Master Plan/UDO.

To check your zoning, go to the uaoh.net website, click on "GIS", and then on the "Zoning Map."  See how YOUR property is zoned.  You don't want to be surprised at the last minute.

Oh, and a couple of GREAT letters in this week's UA News ... I'll upload them tomorrow, but in the interim, go get a copy and read for yourself!

Week 20 - Day 1

Come to the Solid Waste Initiative Kickoff Meeting!
Thursday, August 28 at 7 PM, Thompson Park Shelter House.

We'll outline next steps, tell you how you can get bumper stickers and yards signs, and talk about other ways you can be a vital part of this effort.

Bring your family/friends, and lawnchairs for yourselves.

Any questions, contact Mike Schadek.
Phone: 554-5607 or email: uatrash@aol.com.

See you then!

We're leaving this up because it clearly compares the two services.

After studying it,
YOU decide which one you want for the next 5 years.
