WEEK 1

DAY 4 PHOTOS

Well, we are now owed another $.01 by the City ...
there were two trucks on the roads
still picking up trash and recyclables at 5:30 PM ...
You are now entitled to send them a bill for $.04.

Here's the trash, stickers and all ... streets with stuff still out at 6 PM included Buckland, Glendon, Chealton, Ambrose, Stratford.

Sorry, no 9PM pictures today ... I was too busy watching
Michael Johns getting voted off American Idol.

DAY 3 PHOTOS

Same story ... if you lived on Chaucer, Kingsgate, Westbury, Friar, Abbey, London, Stonygate, Watergate, or Stonehenge, at 6PM, you and your kids got to see the shiny new recycle truck ...

We couldn't get out before 9 PM, at which point, they appeared to have finished.  Well ... not quite.  There were still a couple of areas that had been missed.

DAY 2 PHOTOS

Trucks were busy scurrying around the Day 2 route at 5:30 PM.  Notice that behind the "recycle vehicle" (that's what those trucks are called ... the regular trash trucks are called "packers") is an Inland "scout truck."  Not quite sure what the folks in the "scout truck" do other than drive around and see ...

.... stuff that hadn't been picked up.  If you live on Eastcleft, Asbury, Leeds, Avalon, Dorset, Fishinger, Shrewsbury, Nottingham, Zollinger, Edington, or Fisher (and those were just the ones we found after a cursory drive), all or part of your streets still had bottles, cans, and newspapers on the curb.

This resident poses before his recycle can that wasn't accepted!  No note was left to tell him what he had done wrong (the Contract states that a written reason must be attached to rejected stuff) ...
"That's what I've put my paper in, like, forever!" he said.

And here we have two trucks obviously confused as to why the other is on the same road ... time ... 7:30 PM.

And, yes, it's getting dark.  It's 7:50 PM ... Gee ... let's go for our evening run and have our kids watch the trash being picked up ...

DAY 1 PHOTOS

"My Street" (Wyandotte, Andover, Bedford, Coventry, Cambridge, Arlington, Edgemont,  Devon, Stanford, King) ... 5:30 PM  ... garbage everywhere.  Trucks barrelling down streets not once, twice, or three times, but four and five times.

This, while families are taking an evening stroll, residents are tending their gardens, and kids are playing ball in the front yards.  The City Manager states that this is "first rate service."  I'd hate to see second rate service.

8 PM ... They're still collecting!  Two trucks on one street?  Hmmm .... after the 5 PM curfew as specified in the contract ... $100 fine .... the City owes me $.01.  I'm sending a bill.
